Soulganic "Family Ties"

Aiiiiight y'all!!
Family Ties from Soulganic feat. Stan Odell Graham is out today!!!

Firstly, getting back in the studio with Anthony, Ryan and Corey in '22 after ALL these years (like 2007 ) has been a blast. They put a lot of trust in me & I think that we've all made something really cool together!!
I'm looking forward to talking a lot more about the album process & the sessions in upcoming posts.

I've been lucky enough to track & mix a number of sessions over the years w/ Stan as a feature, but it's always been a little more "rigid" than this one was - in sort of a Hip-Hop context - never really in a live band scenario...I'm so glad we brought him in on this one!!

Anyway, back to Family Ties --- check out the Spotify link below if you're into funky - jazzy - indie soul.

powertakeOff / Squelch Chamber Split Cassette Release

As of TODAY, the power-take-Off / Squelch Chamber split cassette tapes are available on Bandcamp. Thank You The Butcher Shed Records for making it happen!

The powertakeOff contribution to the project was “Bethany”. Taking up one side, it features layers of feedback & the WILDEST (found vocal) recording…and the thing is - it wasn’t edited for time & space at all - it really lined up to the music this perfectly.

Check it out if you’re into the weirdo noisy side of things.

powertakeOff “Cacophony”

Out today on Reptilian Records

“Cacophony” is the 1st out of 3 projects that I've been a part of w/ power-take-Off - we really did a WHOLE LOT of work (in just a few days).

I'm proud to have worked on half of this record w/ Gus, Trevere, Scott, Jane, Kyle & my friend Kathleen (right before she passed). I believe that we finished the project exactly as you guys intended & I know that you'd love it!!

This one's HEAVY!!! Turn it up for KJ!!!

Preach Jacobs "Frances" Listening Party

We had a blast hosting an intimate listening party for Preach Jacobs (Columbia, SC) & his vinyl release of “Frances” at the studio. Big thanks to everyone that dropped in!!!

Here’s a few snaps from the evening courtesy of Shante Slagle.

Black Violin feat. Blind Boys of Alabama "We Are One"

I’ve been waiting on this one for a minute!!!

A while back I had the pleasure of jumping in & assisting Black Violin along with The Blind Boys of Alabama with the mixing (and some additional vocal tracking) on “We Are One”. The vocal & string arrangements on this one are pretty incredible……...and when the snaps drop………………it REALLY hits you!!!

Anyway - have a listen below, it’s a beautiful record and I’m so honored to have contributed to the discography of these legends!!
